Orbit Logic Delivers Collection Planning Software to World's Highest Resolution GeoEye-1 Satellite
GREENBELT, MD, (February 10, 2009) -- Orbit Logic congratulates GeoEye and its partners on the successful launch and completion of checkout activities for its GeoEye-1 satellite, now the world’s highest resolution and most accurate commercial earth-imaging satellite. GeoEye is using Orbit Logic’s Collection Planning System (CPS) for GeoEye-1 mission and collection planning. The delivered CPS solution incorporates high-fidelity spacecraft models, automated planning algorithms, and a scalable, clustered computing architecture to support future additional satellites. Functions provided by the software include contact scheduling and de-confliction, planning window management, lights-out automation, automated algorithms for optimized collection planning, automated recorder management and downlink planning, and graphical user interfaces and interactive maps for manual planning and operator situational awareness.
GeoEye and it’s partners have used Orbit Logic’s CPS solution for spacecraft since 2004. The software has been enhanced with additional features and automation to support the new GeoEye-1 spacecraft.
“ We are proud to be a partner for this new advanced GeoEye satellite,“ said Alex Herz, Orbit Logic president. “We have had a great relationship with the GeoEye team over the years, and we are delighted that our proven collection planning software is once again an important part of GeoEye’s daily operations.”
