Orbit Logic Collection Feasibility Tool (CFT) Goes Live for THEOS

GREENBELT, MD, (May 10th, 2012) – Orbit Logic Incorporated is proud to announce that its web-based collection feasibility tool has been deployed for operational use on the THEOS imaging satellite program by the Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency (GISTDA) in Thailand. CFT will be used by GISTDA and its THEOS imagery customers to assess collection feasibility and to estimate collection timelines for specific imaging orders. Orbit Logic added new features to its COTS product and configured the software for THEOS spacecraft characteristics as part of the contract with GISTDA.

Orbit Logic‘s CFT provides single or multi-satellite collection feasibility determination and detailed reports for analysis and operational needs. CFT computes minimum and maximum time to collect a specified target or group of targets based on the area of interest (imported or defined and displayed on an integrated Google Map), user-defined collection constraints, satellite ephemeris and computed access duration and revisit time, available ground stations and downlink capabilities, onboard storage space, statistical cloud cover, and a competition order deck (if available). Feasibility results are returned within seconds in a summary overlay on the map, with a detailed report available upon user request. Users can adjust parameters based on the detailed report in order to bring in collection timelines as necessary. Authorized users can add and reconfigure new satellites, ground stations, and feasibility parameters so the tool can be quickly deployed to support most any mission within a matter of hours.

“This delivery for THEOS reflects Orbit Logic’s move towards web-based applications and solutions.” said Alex Herz, president of Orbit Logic.  “We are happy that the customer was able to go live with CFT so quickly.  Our web-based product was a great option that is enabling GISTDA to provide better customer support without increasing staff.”
