STK/Scheduler Passes the 100-License Mark
GREENBELT, MD, (September 26, 2006) -- Orbit Logic announced today that the 100th license of STK/Scheduler software was sold in August 2006, demonstrating leadership in a vital market for commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) mission planning and scheduling tools for the aerospace and defense industries. STK/Scheduler was first released in 2002 as an add-on module to STK - the flagship analysis software developed by Analytical Graphics, Inc. (AGI).
“One hundred licenses marks a significant milestone,”
says Alex Herz, Orbit Logic president. “Four years ago, when STK/Scheduler was in development, skeptics doubted that a COTS tool could perform mission-specific aerospace scheduling tasks. The size of today’s market proves that our COTS product is not only effective for the aerospace market, but is flexible enough to support many different types of missions for satellites, ground systems, UAVs, and more.”
STK/Scheduler seamlessly interfaces with STK so that anything computed by STK can be applied as a scheduling constraint. Its capabilities include: flexible task and resource definition; automated resource de-confliction and task scheduling optimization; a comprehensive and fully open API for integration with external software applications; and a user-friendly GUI for manual scheduling inputs. The same interface also enables 3-D animation of schedule solutions within STK’s dynamic 3-D visualization environment, providing unparalleled situational awareness.
Orbit Logic partnered with AGI and Optwise Corporation to develop and market STK/Scheduler. AGI contributed the core flight dynamics analysis software and the visualization environment, as well as software sales and marketing. Customized algorithms from Optwise Corporation power STK/Scheduler and include a neural-inspired algorithm for faster solutions to complex scheduling challenges.
Analytical Graphics, Inc. (AGI) develops commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) analysis software for land, sea, air, and space that is relied upon by the national security and space communities. With more than 32,000 worldwide installations, the main applications of AGI technologies focus on battlespace management, geospatial intelligence, space systems, and national defense programs. In addition to its free core product STK, AGI produces the desktop software applications Navigation Tool Kit and Orbit Determination Tool Kit; free AGI Viewer software; and the development tool 4DX Embedded Technology.
