Collection Feasibility Service

The collection feasibility service computes an estimated time to collect for each feasibility request. Estimating the time required to collect a image order is performed using a formula with the following raw data inputs:

  • Image order location (LAT/LON)
  • Image order collection constraints (incidence angle [or GSD], azimuth angle, sun angle, etc.)
  • Proximity to other image orders of equal or greater priority
  • Image order size (area and orientation)
  • Statistical cloud cover

Configurable constants in the formula allow tuning based on operational experience. Average revisit time for the order is computed based on constrained access computations for a point target at the point of the order area closest to the equator (for conservativeness since targets at the equator have the longest average revisit times).
